About Fallen Idol
Chronologically, Fallen Idol was our first collaborative songs doing for the Pearl Hunting album. It takes us to snow-covered Finland. The haunting tones of the jouhikko (Finnish bowed lyre), performed by Tero Kalliomäki, weave a soundscape filled with ancient myths and northern spirits. His mastery of the instrument adds a timeless layer of mystery to the song’s atmosphere.
Ready for the journey? Then it starts right away with Falling Idol, where the traditional instruments clash with the guitar riffs for a first track inspired by Nightwish’s Tarja era, very effectively, with superb clear female vocals and a bridge highlighting these traditional instruments used on this record. A first track of very high quality.

🇫🇮 TERO KALLIOMÄKI
TERO KALLIOMÄKI is a Finnish musician known for his mastery of guitar and jouhikko. He gained recognition as the original guitarist of Yearning and the guitarist and primary songwriter for Saattue. Tero has collaborated with Ines Lukkanen in Embassy Of Silence and Uinuos, and performed as a duo. He also crafted his own electric jouhikko, which he plays in his personal project, Kallomäki.

Jouhikko
The jouhikko, also known as the bowed lyre, is a traditional string instrument from Northern Europe, particularly Finland and Karelia. It typically features a wooden body, two or three strings, and is played with a horsehair bow. Played by drawing the bow across the strings, the jouhikko produces a haunting, resonant sound evocative of its native regions’ rugged landscapes and ancient folklore.
